ulster hall
belfast
One of Belfast's most famous landmarks was being upgraded to incorporate new multi-storey changing rooms, toilet blocks, shops etc. Portions of the existing structure required underpinning. This was to be carried out in close proximity to neighbouring buildings. Due to the Ulster Hall being a listed building, a vibration limit of 5mm/s PPV was prescribed for the project. Larsen also piled a crane base for the main contractor given the restricted working area on site. To help keep the job on schedule we used up to three mini piling rigs on site, at any given time.
PROJECT SPECIFICATION
Over 200 No. 219mm mini piles to 275kN SWL with up to 3 rigs
Piles up to 12m in length both inside and outside of the building.
